Due to COVID-19, millions of households in California were at risk of homelessness. In partnership with the Diocese of San Jose and Catholic Charities, we offered workshops to help tenants and landlords access the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act of 2020 funds and joined over 600 California IAF leaders on Zoom along with our own Catholic Bishop Oscar Cantú of San Jose and two state legislators to call for an extension of the eviction moratorium.  We organized hundreds of phone calls and emails to state senators, assemblymembers and the Governor asking for more time and flexibility to get funds to families who missed rent due to the pandemic. They answered our call, but we continue to fight for support for vulnerable families.

Over 270 people joined us online for our first ever Fall Assembly, where we heard stories about the issues affecting the lives of our Silicon Valley neighbors  and how we can come together to change things for the common good. We also secured commitments from the Senate candidates for Districts 13 and 15 to work with us within two months of being elected. Missed it? Watch the recording by clicking the button below.
